A person observed near a vehicle does not by itself establish ownership, criminal activity, or intent. Operators open the underlying footage, review context, and decide what belongs in the investigation.
The rolling footage may expire. Your saved evidence shouldn't.
Connected cameras may use configurable retention periods. When an investigator saves a relevant moment to a case, VIGIL preserves it separately from the normal rolling video lifecycle.
